In Texas it’s easy to tell when spring has arrived. We don’t look for ground hog shadows or anything like that. 
One of the most notable indicators of spring is the numerous pairs of bobwhite quail that can be observed all around the Texas grass and brush lands. 
The rooster & hen bobwhites get together for their first hatch of the year to begin their new covey.  “Spring Pair” is a familiar sight to the springtime outdoorsman & is an ode to one of the most important facet of quail conservation. 
The yearly hatch’s are what determine how well the bobwhite quail population is doing & how to conserve them throughout the year. This beautiful sculpture features one of the aforementioned pairs in full flight & full plumage.
